My work for the current development of Blast Course 2

Blast Course 2 is still in development, and I’ve fully taken on the producer role, leaving the game-design tasks I took over in Blast Course behind. The main challenges I’m facing right now as a producer are:

Challenge 1

Execute the original vision for the game while applying the lessons learned from Blast Course.

What I’m doing to face it:

  • Redesigned our documentation into a living wiki for the game, keeping track of design decisions, documentation, asset lists, and guides so the team can access them easily.
  • Made content decisions that stayed true to the game pillars we defined during the conceptualization phase.

Results:

  • A more aligned team that keeps focus on achieving a final product with a defined scope.

Challenge 2

Grow the team to match the scope and manage interns without losing control of the scope or the target publishing date.

What I’m doing:

  • Analyzed the needs for the game we wanted to create and added the needed members to the main team to cover the scope.
  • Managed the legal aspects of the internships with U-Tad University and oversaw their work with support from their tutors and the main team.

Results:

  • Adding interns did not slow development, and tutors focused only on feedback, as I managed the paperwork and their needs throughout their internship.
  • The interns provided valuable assets for the final game and helped accelerate development.
  • The team size fits development needs, and our horizontal structure supports a unified vision and development needs.

Challenge 3

Formalize the studio with a legal structure and secure financing so we can develop the game sustainably, rather than treating it as a personal project.

What I did to solve it:

  • Led research into different legal structures for the studio and the documentation processes needed for each one.
  • I’m actively searching for financing opportunities and handling the documentation needed for each one.

Results:

  • We are still deciding which structure fits us best and waiting for financing opportunities.
